About The Project

It’s often forgotten that landscaping is just as much about safety as aesthetics. Safety was at the top of the agenda when a Stony Stratford school approached us for grounds maintenance in Milton Keynes. The Neal Landscapes team were tasked with reducing the hedges surrounding the school’s playground to lessen the risk posed by hazardous overgrown shrubbery.

Having been briefed to trim the hedges as high as possible without using ladders, our landscapers had to find a balance between height and safety. They maintained a consistent hedge level just below chest height, matching the fence that formed the playground’s perimeter and making the space appear far more open. This level allowed the team to work within the site safety guidelines and provide a clean and organised finish.

The new-look playground provides a far less hazardous recreational area for the school’s students to enjoy. The reduced height of the surrounding shrubbery minimises the risk of damage during storms, and the refined border poses less of a trip hazard. Teachers and parents can have peace of mind knowing the school children can enjoy a playground with heightened safety measures.

After clearing away the trimmings, the Neal Landscapes team left the playground spotless. Our client was delighted with the end result, which completely transformed the previously restrictive playground. Testimonial

“I can’t recommend the guys at Neal Landscapes enough. Our playground needed some TLC to ensure our students always had somewhere to play. The landscapers arrived early in the morning and completed the project by the afternoon. They left the playground clean and tidy, with far more presentable bushes. The whole process was completely fuss-free!”
